My love for silver jewelry started way back when I was a teen. But being in a small city those days there were not much options to buy or wear. Being a born traveler and trying to explore into many cultures, I was exposed to various kinds of silver jewelry but Indian handmade silver jewelry is one of my favorites. Wherever I travel, I always try to search out a flavor of the local jewelry designs made of silver and try to pick a piece or two to my collection.

I was introduced to this beautiful shop named “Chamba Lama” at Esplanade, Kolkata (India) way back in 2004 through a very sweet friend of mine. This is one of the oldest shop of Kolkata, started probably 50-60 years back or may be more. I just fell in love with their enormous collections and variety as it has so much to offer each customer according to their taste and occasion. I can vouch that no one will go disappointed from this shop ever and embrace their buy for lifelong.

The specialty of their collection is, they have simple to fine silver jewelry for all age groups and occasions. Whether you are a college going spunky teen or a working woman or a home maker, it doesn’t matter. You will get silver junk jewelry specially liked by many, sophisticated pieces for party wear and the best work-wear jewelry for modern office-going women.
I still remember going there for the first time on a sunny weekend afternoon with my friend and buying my first pair of earrings which is so exquisite and I still possess them. I wear all of their jewelry with pride and passion as it makes me feel distinctive.

I am sharing few of my personal collection here in this blog and some are from the Chamba Lama collection with I personally adore. Prices range from INR 120/-. The price depends on the jewelry design and weight of silver. However in recent times, there has been a steep rise in price of silver jewelry all across and this is one concern for many with tight budget.
